other expressions,
those which are known

and follow it, no matter cost;
the quality of people, things--
a fictional protagonist,
an animation, sometimes silly;
parts that make the whole, a letter,

Faith
When Christ returns, will he detect this trait,
the substance of things hoped for, proof
of things not seen, the meeting of blind dates,
the hand held out in hope of no reproof,
this evening's sunset and the morrow's sunrise,
light that comes with switches flicked, the tap
we turn for water, orders placed by size
in mail, cages set for rats we trap,
the bill prepaid, the check that's coming, words
we place upon a page, the readers' eyes
when none are here, the meaning that's inferred
proved clear, translation not disguised,
the life awaiting after death, our fate?
When Christ returns, will he detect this trait?
