AN INTERROGATION
The puppet-centre (buoyed up on a curse
of twisting light) drinks in the rosy glow,
eternity, illusory or worse
pinned cruciform on geodesics, slow
death’s irrelevance sinking nobly in
an arbitrary west, through storm-clouds mapped
in tensor calculus, from which a thin,
conditioned voice, uncertain of its lapped
-up wisdom, asks:
“What constitutes an eye
among these horrors? and how reconcile
extended form with its antithesis,
so regularly posited by this
monstrosity?”
